Women 40 & Over - Pregnancy Rate 50% with ZIFT

Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer (ZIFT) is a procedure whereby embryos are placed directly into the fallopian tube. This allows embryos to develop in their most natural environment, as opposed to the artificial environment of the IVF laboratory. Our ZIFT pregnancy rate for women over 40 years of age exceeds 50%.

Gender Selection and Parental Identification of Embryos (Gene Security Network™)

An embryo mix up recently made national headlines after a woman from Ohio delivered the child of another woman following the transfer of frozen embryos.

At SMFS, we take the utmost care to assure correct labeling and identity of all embryos. We now offer a new method to accurately identify the parental origin of embryos, screen for the presence of all 24 chromosomes and identify the gender of the embryo if desired. This technology, called SNP Microarray, uses 300,000 reference points on a microchip to compare parental DNA to DNA removed from the embryo. Results are available in 48 hours, thus allowing fresh embryo transfer.

Frozen embryos can also tested for parental identity and chromosome count prior to embryo transfer, thus virtually eliminating the chance of an embryo mix-up.

Egg Donation

Egg donation allows women to become pregnant even when they lack eggs of their own. Our pregnancy rate with egg donation is over 70%. SMFS offers both traditional egg donation and donation using immediately available frozen donor eggs. Dr. Jain has special expertise in the care of women over 45 years of age having published a landmark article in the Journal of the American Medical Association on egg donation in women over fifty. Please see article on CNN.com for further insight or click on the “read more” tab for further information about egg donation.
